A supermarket security guard was viciously punched and part of his ear bitten off when he challenged a group of suspected shoplifters.
The 58-year-old suffered head and ear injuries after he was attacked at Asda in Ashford.
The incident happened between 10pm and 11pm at the Kimberley Way store last Saturday.
Police say he had challenged a group of youths who he believed had taken items from the store without paying.
