A young woman was cut free from her car after it crashed into the central reservation of the M20.
The coastbound carriageway was between J10 A20 for Ashford and J11 B2068 for Hythe and Westenhanger after the accident.
Two lanes remained closed until about 8.30pm while the damaged vehicle was recovered and debris cleared from the road.
One lane was also blocked on the coast-bound side due to barrier damage, but reopened just after 7pm.
Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the accident, which happened at about 5.30pm.
Kent Fire and Rescue said tonight that a woman in her mid-20s was injured in the accident.
A spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a single car crash on the M20 where a car had collided with the central reservation, on the coast bound carriageway between junction 10 (Ashford) and 11 (Hythe).
"Crews stabilised the vehicle then used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of the car to gain access to the driver, a female aged in her mid 20s.
"Lanes two and three of the motorway were closed as the emergency services worked together to free the woman. She was placed in the care of paramedics. Firefighters made the scene safe."
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance service said: "One ambulance crew attended this incident.
"A woman aged in her 20s was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital.
"She was fully conscious but taken as a priority to hospital suffering from collarbone, rib and ankle pain."
