A road has been closed after an HGV trailer fell on the tarmac, damaging the surface.
The incident occurred just after midday in George Street off Victoria Road in Ashford next to Watling Tyres garage.
The large trailer fell on the road after the pin holding it in place was pulled out, but the supporting legs weren't secured.
It was was being towed by a Bulgarian lorry.
The driver, who was having a tyre on his lorry replaced by Watling tyres, went to drop the trailer on the road because the whole vehicle would not fit in the garage.
Watling Tyres staff described hearing a "loud bang" and the road has been damaged as a result.
A Translink recovery vehicle has now arrived at the scene.
Kent Highways have been contacted for comment.
