Cross-channel train service Eurostar has announced that it is being forced to run a reduced schedule due to an anticipated worker strike in France.
The announcement will severely limit the Eurostar services that run through Ashford, via Ashford International Station.
The reduced timetable will be running for five days from today, ending on Tuesday, December 10.
There are currently eight cancelled services from London St Pancras International to various destinations that were due to run today:
The trains leaving for Paris Gare du Nord at 10.24, 11.31, 13.31, 15.31, 17.01 and 19.01 will no longer be running.
Similarly, the 12:58 Brussels-Midi service and 17:16 train to Amsterdam have been cancelled.
Those hoping to use the service are being encouraged to check online before travelling.
P&O says ferries are currently sailing to schedule but delays may creep in this afternoon.
Easyjet, British Airways and Ryanair have also cancelled many flights to and from France as has French carrier Air France.
In the biggest industrial action France has seen for decades workers are walking out over president Emmanuel Macron's plans to streamline the country's 42 state pension systems.
Citizens fear the reforms will mean they have to work longer and will get paid less when they retire.
