Travellers descended on a leisure centre car park - just a stone's throw from a council's headquarters.
About 12 caravans were spotted in the Stour Centre car park in Tannery Lane, Ashford.
They pulled up alongside the skate park, which is next to Ashford Borough Council's base.
A number of cars and vans were also parked up but the group has now left the car park.
It is not the first time travellers have pitched up in Ashford, as they have been moved on from Elwick Place, Waterbrook Park in Sevington and The Ridge playing field in Kennington this year.
