A pick-up truck has been destroyed after bursting into flames in residential street in Ashford.
Fire crews spent nearly two hours tackling the blaze in Raymond Fuller Way yesterday afternoon.
The owner was parked in the driveway of a house when he noticed smoke coming out of the vehicle.
He managed to move the car away in time before the fire could spread to the building.
Two fire crews from Ashford were sent to the scene at around 1pm, by which point the truck was engulfed in flames.
Witness Emma Morris said: "A massive bang went off and the gentleman who was driving tried to put out the fire, but was thrown back by the explosion. He fell and hit the floor clasping his elbow.
"The fire brigade arrived to attempt to put out the fire but ran out of water/foam. They attempted to use a fire extinguisher until back up arrived.
"It took forever for the fire to go out. Luckily nobody was seriously hurt, but the gentleman's pride and joy was destroyed."
