Two men have been arrested following a drugs raid in Shadoxhurst.
Police seized 21 mature cannabis plants from a shed yesterday while they were carrying out inquiries in the area with officers from the HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs).
They arrested two men, aged 23 and 24, on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
They have both been bailed until Thursday, February 19.
Despite the discovery, police say there is not a problem with growing cannabis in Ashford.
PC Dan Toner, from Ashford Local Policing Team, said: “The arrests of these two men in this joint operation sends a clear message that criminality of this type will be pursued, and networks disrupted.
“There is no particular problem with cannabis in the Ashford rural area.
"We are keen to hear from the public about any suspected drug production.”
Anyone with information about drugs should call Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you prefer to remain anonymous.
