Two people in hospital after M20 crash near Ashford

Two people are in hospital following a four vehicle crash on the M20.
Police were called to the motorway at 9.29pm last night between junction 8 for Maidstone services and junction 9 for Ashford after the incident which involved two lorries, a car and a van.
It happened a mile away from junction 9.
Three fire engines also attended the scene and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the door of the van and free the driver.
The driver was taken to a London hospital and a second person was taken to a Kent hospital.
Officers are still at the scene this morning recovering the vehicles and motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternative route.
Ashford town centre is experiencing higher congestion as a result of the collision.

The stretch of road is not expected to re-open until around 3.15pm.
Investigators are now asking for any dashcam footage recorded between junctions 8 and 9 of the M20 in the moments leading up to the collision.
