Two men have been remanded in custody after they were arrested in connection with a string of incidents in Ashford including the alleged assault of a police officer.
Police were called to the town’s Godinton Park estate on Saturday night at 11.50pm to respond to reports that two men were trying car doors.
They arrested 30-year-old Damian Paul Davey, whose last known address was Cornes Close, Willesborough and later charged him with three alleged offences.
These are the alleged theft of a Sat Nav, charger and bag from a car in Cypress Avenue, going equipped for theft and burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal.
Police also arrested Peter David Osborne, 29, of Littlebrook Road, Ashford, and charged him with three alleged offences: assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, criminal damage to a greenhouse and burglary other than a dwelling in connection to a garage in Aspen Drive.
Both men appeared at Dover Magistrates on Monday and have been remanded in custody to a prison in Surrey until Monday,February 9.
They are due to appear before Canterbury Crown Court charged with 12 alleged offences dating from July 2014, including burglary and vehicle theft.
Osborne will also face charges of driving without a licence and using a vehicle without insurance.
The latest charges will be presented at the same time.
