Firefighters battle tyre blaze near Sheepfold Lane, Ashford, for over two hours

Firefighters battled for more than two hours to put out a tyre fire last night.
The blaze was first reported at 11pm in a field just off Sheepfold Lane in Kingsnorth, Ashford.

A fire service spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of a large fire near Sheepfold Lane in Kingsnorth at about 11pm.
"Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene, and crews arrived to a large amount of tyres alight.
"Crews used hose reel jets and foam to extinguish the fire.
"Residents in the area were advised to close windows and doors due to smoke."
No casualties were reported, and the tyres were successfully extinguished just after 1am.
