An uninsured driver has been arrested and had his van seized following a police chase near Ashford.
Officers spotted the man's white Ford Transit being driven erratically through Hothfield.
He did not immediately stop for police and – following a short pursuit – was pulled over outside frozen fruit and veg distributor Ardo UK near Charing.
Three police vehicles were seen outside the cold store off the A20 at about 1pm yesterday.
The driver, aged 29 and from the Faversham area, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drink and drugs, failing to stop and driving without insurance.
He was also unable to provide a waste carrier licence to account for a large quantity of scrap metal found in the back of the van, which police say the local authority will be made aware of.
The man has since been released from custody pending further inquiries.
