It is understood the group of "four masked men" followed the girl in a black van.

Police were called at 5pm on Wednesday, June 15 by a woman who said her daughter claimed she was being followed by a group.

The day before it is claimed the girl, who is believed to aged 12, was followed by the same group.

A police spokesman said: "In both incidents the girl said they did not make contact with her and she made it safely home.

"Officers have spoken with the girl and her parent, no description of the men or the vehicle was able to be given. No offences have been reported."

It is not thought to be linked to an incident police appealed for witnesses to yesterday when a man was grabbed around the neck and robbed by a group in Jemmett Road.
