Motorists are warned to expect long delays at a busy Ashford roundabout for a week while council workers carry out drainage repairs.

The work will take place at the Drovers roundabout, where the A28 Templer Way, A28 Simone Weil Avenue, A292 Maidstone Road, A20 Maidstone Road and A20 Fougeres Way all meet.

Kent County Council (KCC) workers are due to start the work on Saturday and hope to be finished by Sunday, February 22.

One lane of the busy roundabout will be closed as workers replace damaged drainage curbing blocks.

A KCC spokesman said the work had been scheduled for the half term school holiday to minimise disruption and the work will take place during the day for extended hours in a bid to finish it as soon as possible.

The Drovers roundabout, near the M20, is one of the main approaches to Ashford town centre.
