Late night fast food lovers have been left in the dark as to the whereabouts of a popular kebab van in an industrial estate.

Ali’s Best Kebabs used to serve customers from a trailer in Leacon Road near Victoria Park in Ashford 4pm to 4am every day.

But the business owner's agreement with the landowner ceased in February, leaving fans to ask: “Where’s Ali?”

The small car park in Leacon Road is also used by workers at the nearby Griffin Brand warehouse for staff parking.

Managing director Mark Elliott said Ali’s Best Kebab’s whereabouts are now unknown, and says the company has taken on the land for car parking for its staff.

He said: “Ali’s kebabs was on the land referred to and up until a few weeks ago both ourselves and the kebab business rented space from the owners.

“The land was put up for sale which we subsequently bought. The kebab company’s rental agreement was cancelled by the previous owners.

“We will be incorporating the land into our own property which will be landscaped and utilised for additional parking.”

According to 192.com the company is linked to Otterden Close in Stanhope, but there was no sign of the kebab van on the estate this week.
