Car windows were smashed and wing mirrors ripped off after several vehicles were targeted by vandals.

The cars, which were all parked in East Lodge Road and Lime Close in Godinton, Ashford, were damaged overnight, prompting an appeal for dashcam footage.

Resident Jess Greenwood went to go to work on Friday morning to find glass all over the road as the back window of her Volkswagen Up! had been smashed.

The car’s windscreen had also been cracked and the window wipers snapped off.

“I am absolutely devastated about it,” the 32-year-old said.

“Unfortunately, I didn't hear anything at all, and I'm not sure why my car alarm didn't go off.

“The police came out on Sunday and canvassed the area looking for CCTV but concluded there wasn't any and have said there's not much else they can do as it appears to be a dead zone in terms of CCTV.

“It's concerning that someone can just do this much damage and get away with it.

“I am having to rely on other people to take me to and from work and my insurance will only cover one cracked window under their vandalism policy.

“So far it has cost me almost £600 in repairs and I don't have that kind of money lying around.”

It is understood at least five other cars also parked on East Lodge Road were damaged that night.

There are reports others had wing mirrors broken off.

Police the incidents are reported to have happened between 11.40pm on Thursday and 6am on Friday.
