A pensioner is helping police with their inquiries today after the death of a 79-year-old woman at a house in Tenterden.
Officers were called to the property in Oaks Road at 4.30pm yesterday.
A Kent Police spokesman said a man, also 79, is assisting officers today.
A passer-by said he saw four police vehicles plus forensics officers at the house at around 9pm yesterday.
He said: "All the lights were on and the front door to the house was open. I saw officers in white suits coming and going."
A police car was still in the street this morning.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "We are currently investigating the circumstances of the death and a 79-year-old year old man from Tenterden is assisting officers with their inquiries.
"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation."
