Woman robbed near Swan Centre in Newtown, Ashford

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman was robbed in an alley while on her way to a supermarket.
The woman in her late 50s reported that her handbag was taken by a man as she walked past the Swan Centre in the Newtown area of Ashford.
She was on her way to ASDA along the path in the area known locally as Frog Island when she was approached by a white man aged between 40 and 50.
The 5ft 6in suspect was wearing a green jacket with a hood and grey jeans and spoke with an English accent.
Police CID Det Con Graham Wilkinson has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident between 6.45pm and 6.55pm on Monday this week to come forward.
