She was a passenger in a blue Volkswagen Beetle when it collided with a black Range Rover and a black Mercedes E220 AMG.

The crash happened at about 5.45pm last Friday - just days after another accident at the same junction left a man in a serious condition in hospital.

Anxious residents are calling for improvements to be made to the crossroads, which is next to Ashford Cricket Club.

But Kent County Council says the accidents are down to “driver behaviour” rather than the safety of the road.

A council spokesman said: “We are extremely concerned to hear about the recent incidents around the crossroads in Kingsnorth.

“The issue seems to be solely down to driver behaviour.

“There are signs informing drivers that a junction is ahead as well as road markings.

“Notwithstanding the above, we will ensure we continue to monitor the situation and see what, if any, measures could be introduced.

“We are fully committed to working towards the best engineering we can put in place to keep drivers and residents safe.”

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are urged to contact PC Scott Packman on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/234189/19.
