Sex assault probe after woman attacked in Victoria Park, Ashford

A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a cyclist while walking through a park at night.
The victim, who is in her 30s, was on footpath which runs through Victoria Park in Ashford when she was approached by a man on a bike.
It is reported he dropped the bike before sexually assaulting the woman between 10.30pm and 11.45pm on Saturday.
The victim - who had accessed the path via Jemmett Road and was walking in the direction of Ford Way - managed to escape but was followed by the man to a nearby block of flats, where residents intervened and chased the suspect away.
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area but were unable to trace the man.
Detectives are carrying out inquiries into the incident and would like to hear from anyone with information.
