A woman has been treated for smoke inhalation after a flat fire.
Firefighters were called to reports of a cooker alight at a flat in Bybrook Road, Kennington, near Ashford, shortly after 6pm yesterday.
Two fire engines attended.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.
"A woman suffering the effects of smoke inhalation was checked over by paramedics."
Crews left the scene at 7.08pm.
