An identity card from the Second World War has been stolen from a museum.
The 75-year-old piece had been on display at Ashford Museum after it was donated by a member of the public about six years ago.
It was taken from its frame earlier this month.
The museum's head curator Ian Sharp said: "I hope who ever took it realises the significance of what it was used for during the Second World War.
"Someone donated the ID card to the museum to help educate the next generation on what they had to go through during the war.
"We are very sorry we have lost the card and thank the person who donated it.
"We hope that it hasn't put people off donating and we look forward to everyone visiting us in the future."
Mr Sharp said he has not reported the theft to the police.
