Tim Roberts and Michael Yianni are both cup-tied and ruled out of Folkestone Invicta’s FA Cup Second Qualifying Round trip to Skrill South side Ebbsfleet onSaturday.

The two new signings are joined on the sidelines by defender Chris Elliott who starts a three-match ban after being sent off in the 2-0 win over Eastbourne United in the previous round, and Jake Beecroft who is unavailable.

Jimmy Dryden, currently playing for Ashford United in the Southern Counties East League on dual-registration terms is set to start up front in the tie at Stonebridge Road, which Cugley is relishing, despite his selection problems.

“We should be alright, if maybe a little short on the bench. If you don’t look forward to games like this, there must be something wrong with you.”

Cugley meanwhile has been reflecting on the sale of striker Stuart King, who returned to home town club Herne Bay earlier this week for for a reported fee of £3000.

The Invicta boss who brought King back from Maidstone in the summer after selling him for £6000 last season said: “Nobody wants to sell their top scorer, but is great business for the club. They came in for Kingy a few weeks ago, but he wasn’t interested then.

“He now works at Medway, and told me he would struggle to get to training. We didn’t have to sell him this time, but if he is going to go, you might as well get some money from it.”
