Hythe Town seek chairman to usher in new era at Reachfields
08:00, 06 February 2014
Hythe Town have invited applications in their search for a new chairman.
John Dowsett stepped down from the role in December for personal reasons, having only succeeded Paul Markland – now Hythe’s president – as chairman last April.
Club director David Skeel has filled in as acting chairman since then but the club are keen to make a permanent appointment as soon as possible.
A statement said: “Ideally, those interested should be aware that the post calls for drive, passion and some understanding of non-league football. Also, an ability and desire to lead and work with the directors.
“The club is now well-established in the Ryman League and recognises the need to push on for greater success.
“The structure and ambition exists and now we wish to appoint a person to lead us forward.
“However, to achieve this, there is an urgent need to strengthen our finances with more sponsorship and other income-generating methods which are vital to our objectives.”
Applicants should email davidskeel@aol.com or phone Mr Skeel on 07899 727252 after 6pm.
