Angling in Kent with Wesley Shrubsole: A great catch of tench for Ashford angler
06:00, 28 May 2021
Sport on the north Kent coast is still very good with hounds, bass and rays falling to crab and fish baits.
At Deal, dogfish and dabs are the mainstay of sport and at Hythe, the odd smoothound with rays are doing the business with some very early large whiting showing.
Mayweed is making fishing difficult but not impossible.
On the freshwater scene, Ashford angler Kevin Durman landed a great catch of tench, including this super 9lb fish.
Herne Bay angler Neil Creed also did well, he’s pictured with a brace of bass.
Although it may not feel like it, summer is on the way!
