Emergency services called to Biggin Hill airport after bomb scare

Emergency services were called to an airport after a suspected unexploded bomb was found.
Police attended Biggin Hill airport, near Bromley, at 12.54pm after the object was discovered during building works.
Cordons were in place while specialist officers investigated and the item was then taken away for safe disposal.
Firefighters were also at the scene and left at 2.05pm.
The airport remains open and operational.
The Ministry of Defence has been contacted for more information.
