A sword, a machete and two baseball bats have been seized by police following an alleged stabbing.
Police say there are more officers in the Orpington and St Paul's Cray areas after the incident at Longbury Drive, Orpington, at around 4.30pm.
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of affray, and they were taken to south London police stations.
A Met Police spokesman said: "At the scene, a male was found, suffering stab wounds to the leg.
"The injured male was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition."
From 4.55pm until 4.55am tomorrow, a section 60 criminal justice and public act - an increased use of stop and search powers - has been authorised to help Met Police officers deal with the violence.
It affects Cray East, Cray West, Farnborough, Petts Wood, Chelsfield and Pratt's Bottom.
Borough neighbourhoods inspector Stuart Baker is in the area with officers, enforcing the section 60.
He said: "We will continue to take robust action on violent criminals and those who seek to do harm."
The Bromley Metropolitan Police Twitter account had earlier said: "Officers are dealing with calls to a group of males with weapons, close to Lamberhurst Close.
"Officers are currently searching for these males, as witnesses have stated they have jumped into gardens.
"If you see someone in your garden, do not engage with them and please call 999."
Officers also recovered two baseball bats, a sword and a machete during their chase.
The Met Police says its enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage or information should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC, quoting 4711/30AUG.
