A lane is closed on the A2 as heavy rainfall has left part of the road blocked.
Traffic is building on the dual-carriageway between Bexley and Darenth.
Vehicles are being forced to use a single lane because of surface water on one side.
Traffic is queuing on the stretch between the A223 Southwold Road, on the Black Prince Interchange, Bexley, and Junction 2 of the M25, which is the Darenth interchange.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms remains in place for Kent.
