The family of a 16-year-old boy who died on a railway have paid tribute to their “beautiful” teenager.
Leo Barber died near Shortlands train station in Bromley six weeks ago.
Police were called to the line at about 4.50am on November 28 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Leo was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have since released a statement praising the much-loved youngster.
It said: “We are truly devastated and heartbroken as a family with the loss of our beautiful Leo.
“Leo was an incredibly bright, sensitive, funny and loving boy with the world at his feet and could have achieved anything he put his mind to.
“He will be incredibly missed as our son, big brother, nephew, grandson and friend.
“Our hearts go out to all who have been affected by this tragedy.”
The statement adds Leo faced ongoing battles before his death.
It continued: “We would like to thank all the emergency services for their efforts - with special thanks to the London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police.
“We would also like to thank friends, family and the wider community for their support and kindness at this time.
“Leo had struggled with his mental health for several months and was under the care of medical professionals at the time of his passing.
“Our lives will truly never be the same again and we will carry his memory forward as we fight for change for those affected by Autism and mental health.“
