Four people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after reports of a street fight and a crash.
Police were called to the scene in Chislehurst after a man was found with serious injuries.
Officers attended the Royal Parade at around 5.45am where they found the victim, in his 20s, with wounds to his face and body.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
An abandoned car, which had been involved in a collision, was also found at the scene.
Officers searched the area and found two men and two women believed to have been involved in the incident.
All four were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into custody where they remain.
A Metropolitan police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing by officers from the South Area Command.
"Whilst the circumstances of the incident remain unclear, it is believed the victim was assaulted before the suspects got into the car which then crashed".
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101, quoting CAD reference 1634/14Aug.
