A nine-year-old girl who died after being hit by a bus near Crayford has been named as Ada Bicakci.
Police were called to Watling Street, Bexleyheath, near the junction with Halcot Avenue, after reports a bus collided with two children on Saturday, August 3.
Officers and paramedics attended just after 9am and a girl was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she died on the afternoon of Monday, August 5.
She has now been named as Turkish-British national Ada Bicakci.
Ada lived in the area with her family and was a keen gymnast and swimmer.
She attended a local primary school, as well as a Turkish school in south-east London.
A five-year-old boy was also taken to hospital as a precaution after the collision.
The children are siblings who were with a family member at the time of the crash.
Ada’s family have said that following her death, her organs were donated to help six other children. She will have a multi-faith funeral.
Her family, who are being supported by specialist officers, have now released pictures and have requested that their privacy is respected.
The male driver of the bus was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and drug-driving.
He has been bailed to a date in early November pending further enquiries.
The police investigation into the collision continues and police still want to hear from witnesses.
Any witnesses to the collision who are yet to speak with police, or anyone with dash came footage, are asked to call 101 quoting reference CAD 2309/03AUG.
