Man dies after crash on the A21 Sevenoaks Road, near Bromley

A man injured in a road crash in Orpington has died from his injuries.

The 60-year-old man, a passenger in a Ford Ka, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He died from his injuries on Tuesday, September 29, it has emerged.

Now police are appealing for witnesses or dash cam footage.

Officers were called at about 4.45pm on Friday, September 25 to reports of a collision in Sevenoaks Road (A21) at the junction with London Road, Orpington.

The red Ford KA car was in Sevenoaks Road heading towards Hayes when it was involved in a collision with a Scania Lorry.

A 28-year-old woman, the driver of the Ka, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 36-year-old driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He has been interviewed under caution. There have been no arrests.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are particularly keen to hear from any drivers who were in Sevenoaks Road at about 4.45pm and who may have recorded the events leading up to the collision on dash cam.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are also asked to call the SCIU at Catford on 020 8285 1574 quoting CAD 5200/25SEP20.
