A driver has been arrested following a mass police chase involving police dogs, 30 officers and a helicopter.
At around 5pm this evening, police were in pursuit of a vehicle after it failed to stop at The Green in Orpington.
The driver is understood to have driven the wrong way up the A20 to try before crashing into a concrete bollard, in Sevenoaks Way, Sidcup.
A major search was sparked after the man fled the vehicle after the collision and a helicopter from the National Police Air Service was called in to search for him.
Police detained the man after a 40 minute search of the area sealing off a near by school that was searched by dogs.
He was found hiding in a vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle said he was very shocked to discover the man hiding inside.
New Scotland Yard spokesman, Pete Davey, said: "A man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and dangerous driving. He has been taken into custody."
