Two prisoners have been charged with beating their cell mate to death at a high security jail.
Sundeep Ghuman, from Erith, died as a result of serious injuries he sustained at HMP Belmarsh last month.
Fellow inmates Steven Hilden and Terry Jocham, both 28 and originally from south east London, have now been charged with murder.
Mr Ghuman was found with injuries by guards at the London prison on February 18 and police were called at around 8pm.
The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital but died the following day as a result of his injuries.
A post-mortem later revealed the cause of death as a head injury.
Following an investigation, Hillman and Jocham were arrested last week and subsequently charged.
The duo appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today.
They have been remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, March 31.
