There were long delays on the A2 following a crash this morning.

The busy road was partially blocked on the coastbound carriageway near Bishopsbourne, between Canterbury and Dover.

Kent Highways posted about the incident shortly after 7.30am.

"Delays on the coast bound carriageway due to an RTC [road traffic collision]," it said. "Expect delays in the area."

Traffic information website Inrix says the incident happened between Coldharbour Lane for Bishopbourne and the A260 for Aylesham and Womenswold.

The delays are now said to be easing.

The emergency services have been contacted for more information.
