Alert as man demands kisses from schoolgirls in Faversham
09:03, 13 May 2013
Parents of Faversham pupils have been put on alert after two reports of a man approaching schoolgirls.
The stranger twice propositioned youngsters in the town - asking them for a kiss and if they wanted to go home with him.
Both approaches took place during school hours in the Upper Brents Estate and Makenade Avenue areas of Faversham.
Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School deputy head teacher Robert Benson sent an email to parents warning of the incidents.
The stranger is described as mixed race, dark-skinned and aged between 27 and 30.
He is 5ft 5ins, of slim build with a black beard and wearing a white t-shirt, brown jeans and sandals.
PC Andy Dennett, from Kent Police, said: "The male was not aggressive and ran away after each incident, but if anyone sees a male matching this description and acting suspiciously please do not approach him and call the police on 999."
Mr Benson added in his note to parents after the alert on Wednesday: "While we have had no reports of any similar events from our school community, we felt that you and your sons and daughters should be made aware."
