Police appeal after Canterbury city centre robbery and assaults

Police have appealed for witnesses after a person believed to be sleeping rough reported being robbed of their sleeping bag.
Officers were called to Christ Church Gate in Canterbury city centre after receiving a report from a victim that they had been robbed.
The suspect is then accused of assaulting two people in nearby Butchery Lane and in Longmarket, before also chasing a woman in Link Lane.
Police say they detained a 20-year-old man in connection with the crimes, reported between 9.45pm and 10pm on Friday, November 17.
They have now appealed for any witnesses in the area to come forward and call the appeal line on 01843 222289 and quote reference 17-1395.
