The family and friends of a 30-year-old victim of suspected murder are appealing for help repatriating his body.
Alexandru Constantinescu, who was from Romania, was stabbed at the Brotherhood Wood caravan site near Dunkirk, between Canterbury and Faversham, on Sunday evening.
It is thought Mr Constantinescu, who died from his wounds, worked as an apple picker for Pro-Force Ltd, a Maidstone-based firm which provides labour to the horticultural, agricultural and industrial sectors.
Friends say he had a young daughter and came from a modest family, and had moved to the UK for "a better living".
A fundraising page has now been set up to help return Mr Constantinescu's body to his home country.
The appeal, which this morning had raised more than half of its target of 3,500 euros, says "he was young, out of the country for a better living to help his family, raise his little girl."
"Unfortunately criminal hands have interrupted this dream, now Alexander will be home in a coffin.
"Let's help take Alexander to rest in the earth."
Dumitru Palazu, 48, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court today.
