Canterbury: Boy arrested following assaults in city

A boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery after a group of teenagers allegedly attacked people in Canterbury.
Police were alerted to three incidents in the city yesterday following reports a group of youngsters were causing a disturbance in the city.
Two men were alleged to have been assaulted and robbed at about 2pm in Kingsmead Road.
Then, at about 3pm, two further people reported being assaulted elsewhere in the city centre.
Hours later, a man was also believed to have been assaulted at around 9pm in Longmarket.
He required medical attention and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police searched the area and arrested a 17-year-old boy from Strood.
He has been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery and remains in custody.
Inquiries are ongoing.
