More than 100 cannabis plants have been seized by police following raids on two homes.

The drugs farms were discovered after officers searched the properties in Sancroft Avenue and Kent Avenue, in Canterbury.

The raids were carried out on Wednesday following a tip-off that the homes may be being used to grow the drug.

A police spokesman said: "More than 100 plants were seized at each address and a suspect was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

"Following an investigation by East Kent CID, Teslim Mahmutaj has been charged with producing cannabis in relation to the Sancroft Avenue address."

The 30-year-old, whose address was given as Sancroft Avenue, was due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
