Canterbury Hockey Club bow out of EH Cup with defeat against Old Loughtonians

Canterbury men's 1sts lost their EH Cup second round clash with Old Loughtonians 4-2 at Polo Farm on Sunday.
They were 1-0 down at the break and despite a fightback, the Essex side marched through to the next round.
The men continue to set the pace in Men's Conference East after a 3-1 win over rivals Bromley and Beckenham on Saturday.
Matt Harper (picture) gave them a 29th-minute lead at Polo Farm, and despite Martin Gough's equaliser after 52 minutes, Canterbury were back infront four minutes later after Michael Farrer converted a penalty corner.
Ross Gilham-Jones made the game safe with a third two minutes later which put Canterbury top on goal difference.
Canterbury Ladies let a one-goal lead slip as they went down 2-1 at Olton & West Warwicks in Women's Premier Division on Sunday.
Jenny Hall gave the visitors the lead after nine minutes but a penalty corner after 49 minutes was converted by the home side's Naomi James and six minuted later the game was turned on its head with a Lucilla Wright goal which secured the points.
