Canterbury man Leopold Slayter tells Glasgow City Council what they can do with their fine

A council has cancelled a parking ticket after the peeved motorist told them to “shove it up your a***”.
Leopold Slayter, from Canterbury, was told he owed the council £60 for parking 500 miles away in Glasgow even though he’s never driven his car there.
Glasgow Council had written to the 57-year-old musician to say that his sliver Renault Clio had been parked in the city’s Kilmarmnock Road on April 25.
But that day Mr Slayter was 450 miles away at his home in Jesuit Close on the Hales Place Estate.
He said: “This is absurd. The furthest I’ve ever driven the Clio is to Telford in Shropshire.
“I have been to Scotland once before, but that was when I was just a boy.
“Then I got this penalty notice saying that I had parked for too long in Glasgow. It was effectively threatening me with enforcement action.
“That could mean bailiffs turning up at my house and seize my possessions.
“I don’t really get how this could have happened.
“Perhaps they typed the wrong digit into their parking ticket machine.”
Glasgow Council has now admitted it sent the letter to Mr Slayter by mistake.
It says it only became aware of the error when he sent them the enforcement notice back with the words “shove it up your a***” scrawled across it.
Spokesman Mark Dell said: “A penalty charge notice was wrongly sent to Mr Slayter after a registration number was added to our system incorrectly.
"We have cancelled the penalty and apologised to him.”
