A restaurant boss says a customer dashed off without paying for his three-course meal - and has shared CCTV footage of the man running away.
Marian Pandos, the manager of Posillipo in Borough, Canterbury, told KentOnline the lone diner sank beers and a Pornstar martini while eating lamb chops and crocchette di pesce this afternoon.
But now the Italian restaurant has been left £65 out of pocket - and Mr Pandos wants to warn others.
He said: “Unfortunately these things happen. Especially at summertime, there's always going to be something going on.
“It's not about £65, but the point is I'm sure lots of us never went to a restaurant and walked away without paying.
“It's not just about us. It's also about other businesses so they can be aware and keep an eye on people.
“It doesn't happen very often in our restaurant, but there are some places where it does.
“By sharing pictures, we might help the other businesses and they can be careful as well.”
In the video, a man sporting a cap and a grey jumper can be seen finishing a meal at a table outside, as a waiter looks towards him before heading inside.
The customer – who Mr Pandos describes as being in his forties – looks at his phone, grabs his Co-op bag and runs away from the restaurant, apparently not noticing the CCTV camera filming him.
Kent Police have been contacted for comment.
Posillipo Canterbury is one of three in Kent, with branches also in Faversham and Broadstairs.
