A chimney has smashed onto a busy shopping street, narrowly missing pedestrians and drivers.
Emergency crews were called at 11.20am after the structure fell from the top of Westgate Dry Cleaners in St Dunstans Street, Canterbury.
The road is currently closed as crews including one fire engine, an aerial appliance, police and council building inspectors work to make the area safe.
One eyewitness revealed it was a miracle nobody was injured.
They said: "There were people about and drivers when it crashed to the floor."
A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as strong winds lash the east coast.
A spokesman from the fire service said: "The chimney fell probably due to strong winds - the road is shut as the area is made safe. Nobody was injured.
