Canterbury: Costa Coffee to open doors next to Pets at Home off Sturry Road
11:30, 13 December 2017
Coffee drinkers will be able to get their caffeine fix at a new Costa in Canterbury next spring.
The shop, which is under construction next to Pets at Home, off Sturry Road, is set to be kitted out in January.
It is expected to create about 10 jobs on the Marshwood Close Retail Park, which already includes Argos and Poundstretcher.
Spokesman Isabella Highett said: “We are pleased to confirm that our brand new store in Sturry Road will be opening in spring 2018, bringing new jobs to the local area.
“We are looking forward to being an active part of the local community, getting involved with events, providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising.”
News of Costa’s arrival comes the same week a new 17,000 sq ft fitness centre was opened above the nearby Poundland.
Pure Gym will feature state-of-the-art equipment including squat racks, weights and monkey bars, plus a range of group exercise classes.
The no-frills gym, which was opened yesterday by Marlowe panto star Shaun Williamson, is offering non-contract membership options.
