Accident on Fordwich Road in Sturry causes delays along A28 Mill Road

A crash caused long delays and blockages on a busy road.
Drivers were warned that Fordwich Road in Sturry and A28 Mill Road eastbound were affected.
The incident happened at around 4.30pm. It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved.
Several emergency service vehicles were reportedly at the scene and a helicopter was spotted in the area.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed they were called to assist police.
KCC Highways posted a warning to motorists on X this evening.
It said: “Report of an RTC near Fordwich Road junction. Expect delays in the area. Approach with caution.”
Just after 6pm the accident was cleared and traffic returned to normal.
Emergency services have been contacted for more information.
