A callous thief has admitted stealing a poppy appeal box from a city coffee shop.
David Gallagher, of no fixed address, raided Caffè Nero in High Street, Canterbury, on November 8 - just three days before Remembrance Sunday.
The 49-year-old entered the building as a trespasser and also stole staff tips. The total value of stolen cash is unknown.
Gallagher - whose aliases include "Dave the Rave" - pleaded guilty to theft at Canterbury Magistrates' Court the next day.
He was committed to Canterbury Crown Court for sentencing at a later date.
