Person struck by London-bound train near Chartham station outside Canterbury

A man has died after he was struck by a train near Canterbury.
Emergency crews were called to the Tonford foot crossing in Thanington following the incident just after 10am.

The man was struck by the 9.32am Ramsgate to St Pancras service and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from British Transport Police are currently at the scene along with ambulance crews.
A police spokesman said work is now underway to identify the man and inform his family.
The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
National Rail has warned that services between Canterbury West and Chartham are expected to be cancelled or delayed until about midday.
