Dramatic pictures show the moment a car burst into flames on a residential street.
Fire crews were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Hoads Wood Road in Sturry at 5.16pm yesterday.
One fire engine attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.
They also helped to clear up any fuel that leaked onto the road using drainage mats.
The fire service has since confirmed the blaze started accidentally after the car was completely destroyed.
A neighbour captured an image of the burnt out wreckage following the incident which saw fire crews remain at the scene for almost 45 minutes.
A nearby home also reportedly suffered heat damage from the flames.
No injuries were reported, the fire service said.
