Driver beaten in late-night gang attack in Sturry Road, Canterbury

A driver has been left injured after he was beaten by a gang while he sat in his car in the early hours.

The victim had been in a silver VW Polo in Sturry Road, Canterbury, at about 1.30am on Tuesday when he was approached by a group of six people.

He spoke with the group through the window of his car, which was parked near Papa John's Pizza and Sealand Fish Bar, opposite the junction with Honeywood Close.

But three of the men punched him and tried to force open the car door. The group then fled.

The victim suffered injuries to his face, but did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are investigating the assault, and are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the group in the area between midnight and 1.30am.
