Faversham Town boss Ray Turner excited about new season and assessing pre-season trialists
11:50, 07 July 2011
Faversham Town boss Ray Turner is ‘excited’ about the start of the pre-season campaign on Saturday and keen to run the rule over a host of new faces.
The Lilywhites welcome Dover Athletic to the Shepherd Neame Stadium for their opening pre-season fixture (3pm) with Turner expecting to field his entire squad, plus trialists, against the Blue Square Bet South side.
Turner (pictured) said: "I am looking forward to Saturday. I’m probably looking at fielding two different sides and don’t think anyone will get more than 60 minutes.
"It will give me the chance to look at a few people we’ve had along to training. You want to see them in match conditions.
"You can see them in training all you like but you’re never sure until you’ve seen them in a game situation."
He added: "We’ve got a mixture of trialists, in terms of ages and levels of experience.
"We’ll have a good look at them and see where we want to go in terms of signings."
